Section 3 – Maneuvering Course and Basic Commands
At the beginning of the maneuvering course, the judges tell the handler and dog to take the course. The handler, with the dog off lead and hitched to the draft apparatus, hauls forward at a normal working speed unless commanded otherwise by the judge. There are no time constraints for traversing the course as long as the dog continues to work.

A few things I would like to stress is that most of the test is not timed, don't rush and don't be afraid to stop and ask the judges questions.

I entered my first draft test last year and the best advice I received (from Sue) was to remember the test is not timed.
I and my teammate got into a sticky situation during the manuevering course. Luckily, I remembered the test wasn't being timed. It gave me a chance to take a breath, collect my thoughts and fix the problem.
Thanks
Molly
