WIERD Weather Day!

We had a very nice freight haul despite the wind and cold.  Sometimes the wind was so great that it was difficult to even walk!  Here we are down by the pond.  You can't really see it very well but there were some amazing white caps on the water.  We tried to get a few more photos but a very excited Boxer came slaloming through us and the dogs really wanted to break out into a party.

Birdie can't take her eyes off her buddy, Brenna.  Getting her to work instead of play in her friend's presence is not going to be easy!

Brenna is catching the freak snow storm but still performs an amazing recall.

Matilda did great and was not phased a bit by the snow and howling wind.  It must have been blowing about 30 mph!

And look at this!  That is TWO newfs in a dead heat on a recall!  Molly tried Nellie (on the outside in the photo) and Birdie together.  Except for a couple of over zealous moments when Birdie tried to pounce Nellie (and got put in her place for her effort), they worked great for Molly!

Almost Spring Training

We had such  GREAT day training today!  Just look at that view!  We took a long freight haul through the field, down past the lake and then back up the hill to set up a maneuvering course.  All of the newfs were terrific and we had lots of people stopping by to ask questions and admire the large pups.  There were also a number of great distractions.  What a fun place!

We had a lovely day training.  After a wonderful freight haul, Nellie picked up a hitch hiker.  That little dog really enjoyed the ride!  All the pups worked hard.  Birdie managed to lodge her cart under the road block.  Thankfully someone walking by helped us get loose!

07Jan2012 Draft Training

Thank you everyone for such a great training day today! We had a ball! Who would have thought we would be wearing tee shirts in January! LOL ~ This was so much fun hosting carting day! Smokey and Tiny are so excited about the Carting Trials in April! Carbon, Duffy, Benny, Gus, Bob, Daisy, Tallula and all of other Newbies did so great today carting and Obedience! Smokey and Tiny are SOOOO PASSED OUT!

Bruin Winner's Dog and Best of Winners!

Our very own Bruin was the man at the Providence show!  He took Winner's Dog and Best of Winners on Thursday, Reserve Winner on Friday, and Winners Dog on Saturday!  I think you'll all agree he is one stunning boy!  Congrats to Bruin, Kathy, and Mark!

Starting 2012 off Right! January 1 Training!

First day of the New Year was perfect for a little draft training!  Almost 50 degrees and no snow.  Who'd believe it is January in New England?  We had a good turn out and got in some great training.  

The group is heading out for a freight haul in the photo below.  All the dogs did a wonderful job.

This was the return trip.  Eva and Duffy don't look like they are new to this, do they?

Now they are a little tired.  What a good looking group of brown, black, and landseer newfies!
